About Me

✧ Hi, I’m Kaela ✧

I have been sewing since my mother could trust me to not hurt myself with a needle, but my first love was always in making clothing. I had a particular passion for historic reproduction and did a lot of work with theater.

I began quilting in 2021 when my husband asked me to make him a replica of the "A Life in a Day" quilt from the Magicians, which he finally received in 2024 after a few years of me practicing. Fortunately - as soon as I discovered how modern and beautiful quilting could be, I wasn't able to put the rotary cutter down! While many of my quilts were self designed (supported by math skills from my STEM degree) I began writing and publishing patterns in 2026.

✧ My Philosophy of Stitch-Craft ✧

I believe creation is an inherently magical thing. My process begins long before scissors or needles touch fabric - it starts with intention and a spark of inspiration. Each piece is crafted in my home studio and carries the magic of its making - unhurried and intentional.

Most of my magic is handmade during the "hush"—those stolen hours of afternoon naps and bedtime. Every piece is quite literally made with a dash of moonlight!

Quilts are more than blankets - I believe they are little spells of comfort and lifelong heirlooms. Pieces of pieced warmth designed to keep both the cold and the shadows at bay.
